Most of the front-end developers know that Microsoft IE is the most difficult browser to handle the desired design/ layout of a web page/ site. And if you are one of them caught off guard by this and haven’t had time to test your sites in IE8 or IE7, don’t lose sleep; you can make IE8 render pages like IE7 or IE6 render as IE7 by using a simple META tag. This meta tag tells the browser (IE) to acts like browser version specified in the emulator.

It doesn’t get much easier than that. Don’t use this functionality as a crutch for too long though!
