Welcome. Few months back I reviewed Dell Inspiron 15R 5521 laptop with i5 3rd generation processor and 1gB HDD. The post is here…
Recently I got chance to review another dell laptop with Intel i3 4th generation processor, 500gB storage and 4gB RAM. Priced at INR 37,500/-
The design of earlier version, one with 3rd generation processor of this series was completely different with plastic look with rough texture. Now, the new look has metallic finish outside and within. Have a look by yourselves.

From above screenshot, Dell’s 5537 series comes with Intel 4th generation of i3 core processor with only 1.7 Ghz. and 4 gB of RAM, good enough and 64 bit Windows 8.1 Single language.
CPU Specification & Other Details
When it comes to CPU (processor), Intel core i3 processor with 1.7 Ghz. (speed). This processing speed is first reason of any PC or computerized device to process faster. But the price at which his comes is bit disappointing. But not to let you down, Dell has options for higher processing speed processor but only with Intel i7 core processor with 4M Cache memory at 3.0 ghz. max. at higher price for sure. 🙂
Dell packed this 15r 5537 series with Seagate 500gB HDD (hard disk drive). With the processor speed and primary memory (RAM) it has a decent read and access time around 19.7ms.
Kicks & Kisses
Runs smoothly for 3 hours+ with its 5800 mAh battery almost with no noise. The Waves Maxx Audio output and input are decent. I would recommend to buy/ use earphones/ headphones with mic that has 3.5mm jack as connector; there are only 4 USB ports and you might run out of it quickly. HDMI video output is nice. A 10/100 Ethernet port, could have been a gigabit port when keeping the price in mind.
But disappointment starts with Dell’s ignorance for lighting up my life by lighting up its keyboard. A glossy screen which you could use it as a mirror when you’re in need of. It really disturbs when you are working outdoor, becomes really hard to view the screen content. With the glossy screen you tend to lose a bit of displayed content due to reflection.
But anyways, this is not a bad laptop. Its good and fine for most of your everyday purpose. It has a decent processing speed, a loaded 4gB RAM and good HDD. One most importantly (I liked) is the idea of having a bump on the batter to allow ventilation and a nice lifted angle for typing. The most positive cause for one to go and buy Dell is their nice built quality, good specification at reasonable price and a kickass support center. They really respond to issues and queries nicely & quickly.
Dell has definitely been working on making things better. But from a view-point of consumer I would like to expect much. You would feel this device lagging behind when applications like Adobe Photoshop, an Internet browser, and possibly McAfee’s scan run all at once. Otherwise, it’s a thumbs up.
