Birth & Rise of Google

GOOGLE – a word everyone knows. Google has replaced the word ‘Search’ with ‘Google it’! That’s power. And Google Inc. has become undoubtedly the most influential companies among the world. Why not? Google search receives 3.5 Billion queries per day.

In 1997 was registered officially and followed by Google image search in the year 2001. Gmail was launched in 2004, and is now the most widely used e-mail service with almost 425 million active users. YouTube was purchased in 2006, and now 100 hours of videos are being uploaded on YouTube every minute. Later based on user comments Google auto-suggestion was introduced in August 2008. Followed by Google Instant in September 2010.

The latest update to the search engine algorithm was the Hummingbird in September 2013. Its main goal was to answer more complex questions effectively and cut the spam and unrelated websites. After so many years, size of the Google Index is a whopping 100,000,000 GB or 100 million GB. puff, restlessness! To understand this number, 1 KJ (Kilo joules) of energy is required to process every search query. But revenues soared new heights when Google stepped into advertising, Google AdWords.
